英国古典音乐专辑排行榜上出现了一位冠军新星 – Will Martin威尔．马丁。
他的首张专辑唱片《A New World》（一个崭新的世界）直接打上英国古典音乐专辑榜冠军位置，使这位24岁的年轻男高音成为英国古典乐专辑榜最年轻的男高音冠军。

来自新西兰.....

威尔．马丁出生于新西兰，父亲是律师，母亲是护士。但是，由于父母都喜欢音乐，威尔．马丁从小就听着音乐长大。

为了追寻在音乐演唱方面的发展，去年马丁来到伦敦。

他的首张专辑唱片《A New World》最近在英国发行，这张包括了古典和流行歌曲的唱片直接打上榜首，发行量超过其他前五名专辑唱片发行量的总和。

环球唱片公司（Universal Music）的发言人说，“威尔成为古典音乐唱片排行榜上最年轻的男高音冠军。对男高音来说，威尔还只是个男孩。”

跨界歌手

几年前，另外一个来自新西兰的女歌手也打上了英国古典音乐榜冠军位置。她是当时才16岁的女歌手Hayley Westenra（海莉．维斯特拉）。

跟海莉．维斯特拉一样，威尔．马丁也成为古典与流行跨界歌手。他说，他希望通过自己的音乐，使一些十几岁的年轻人第一次买古典音乐唱片。

不仅演唱，马丁还喜欢弹钢琴，并酷爱橄榄球和足球等体育运动。他说，到16岁时，他放弃了其他爱好，全身心投入到音乐中。

今年，威尔．马丁将同女子乐队All Angels 在英国巡演。

New Zealand music sensation, Will Martin is heading for UK music domination. At only twenty-three he has already packed a heck of a lot into his life; from school musicals to singing the New Zealand National Anthem in front of a sold out All Blacks crowd.

When asked if the title, 'New World' had a meaning behind it, Will's reply was: "There are two meanings behind it. We've taken a new take on the music, reinvented a lot of the songs, so it's a new world of music, but also one of the main songs is from the new world symphony, so it's very appropriate I think."
